Support WCICIL

Our Mission

Promote, increase and improve opportunities for independent living and lifestyle for persons with disabilities within the six county service area: Adams, Brown, Hancock, McDonough, Pike, and Schuyler.

Our Philosophy

The Independent Living philosophy is based on the premise that regardless of a person’s disability, all individuals have the right and the responsibility to make life-controlling choices which determine the direction of their own life. That includes full and meaningful social participation as equal members of the community.

With your support we can:

Youth Services

Provide students with disabilities with the most appropriate accommodations that best meet their individual learning needs.

Peer Counseling

Conduct support groups in the community to provide information to individuals with disabilities in settings that are accessible and convenient.

Independent Living

Assist individuals access needed transportation, housing, assistive technology, and health care resources so they can continue to live independently in their own home.

Transitioning Services

Help move individuals out of nursing homes and other institutions back into apartments and houses in the community.

How To Help

WCICIL is a government registered 501 c3 nonprofit organization which means your cash/check donation can be tax deductible for you.  Cash donations allow WCICIL to provide services that directly impact the lives of local people with disabilities.  Checks can be made out to WCICIL and mailed to our main office in Quincy.

Sponsorship of special projects are also available throughout the year, for example building wheelchair ramps and other home modifications to improve accessibility.  Look for these sponsorship opportunities in the announcement section of the WCICIL Home page.
