BLIND SERVICES
& BRAILLE SERVICES
 

 
 

Blind Services provide one-to-one counseling, group support meetings, independent living skills training. Braille transcribing and or large print for individuals and the community, i.e., letters, Braille menus, event brochures, etc. (A fee is charged for materials). We also do Braille instruction, referrals for other blind services, such as, Talking Books, Para Transit, visual assistive devices (on a loan basis from another agency).

It is the policy of the WCICIL to provide Braille transcription services when customers, community individuals, or community service providers make request Requests should be ion writing but can be made verbally with a staff member writing it out. When the project (i.e. letter, menu, brochure) has been approved, the project is assigned to the Blind Services Co-Ordinator to be entered on computer and transcribed. There is a charge for the cost of materials.

We also offer a Low Vision Support Group meeting which occurs on the 1st Thursday of every month, between 10am - 12pm.
